How much can a PDF be compressed?
Scanned and photo-heavy PDFs often shrink by 60–90% with the Recommended level. Text-only PDFs are usually small already and shrink less.
How do I compress a PDF to under 100 KB or 200 KB?
Use Strong compression. If it is still too large, split off pages you do not need, then compress again.
Will text still be searchable?
With Basic compression, yes. Recommended and Strong turn pages into images, so use OCR PDF afterwards if you need searchable text.
